Yakebitaiyama Ski Resort has many woodland courses that take advantage of the natural terrain, and once you reach the 2,000-meter-high summit, you will be rewarded with a stunning 360-degree panorama. With lift tickets exclusive to Mt. Yakebitai, children elementary school age and under can enjoy free lifts all day! Equipped with two gondolas, a total of 16 courses offer a variety of layouts, from flat beginner courses to advanced courses used for international competitions. The Descente First Track event, where you can be the first to ski the slopes in the morning, is a big hit every year! After skiing, unwind at the adjoining hotel. Shizukuishi is a premier snow resort in the northern Tohoku region with stunning views of Mt. Iwate. The 20 varied courses with a total running distance of 15,660 meters include the 2,648 meter-long E1 Downhill Course, and the snow strider-accessible B1 Family Slope. The resort caters to both novice and advanced skiers. This season, the Park Area has been expanded, featuring a wide array of options to please skiers of all levels. Renowned for its powder snow, Manza Onsen Ski Resort offers some of the best powder snow in Japan. From its 1,994-meter-high summit, you can even catch breathtaking glimpses of Mt. Fuji. The slopes are compact, with gentle and steep inclines, catering to skiers of varying skill levels. Other courses include the forest course, with beautiful frost-covered trees, an uncompressed snow area where you can ski in deep snow, and a panoramic course with views of Mt. Asama and Mt. Myoko. Lift tickets are free for children of elementary school age and younger. The Animal Forest Course with animal signs is also popular. Plus, the hotel is conveniently located just steps away, and you can also explore the nearby Manza Hot Spring Resort, known for having some of the highest sulfur content in Japan.
Prince Snow Resort is full of attractions like the Hakkaisan Ropeway, which takes you up to the top of the 1,147-meter-high mountain with magnificent views. The course has a unique layout with an 820-meter elevation difference and a nearly straight downhill course. A full range of courses for intermediate and advanced skiers are available, including cobb-filed courses and deep snow runs. A detour course for beginners allows for long runs while enjoying the scenery. Lift tickets are free for children of elementary school age and younger. It is worth the trip just to take the ropeway up and admire the view from the summit.
With a maximum run of 8,500 meters, a width of 300 meters, and an elevation difference of 1,124 meters, you can enjoy dynamic runs with views of Lake Nojiri and the mountains of Northern Shinano in the distance. About 80% of the slopes are for beginner and intermediate skiers, and ski lifts and gondolas are free for elementary school students and younger! Additionally, there are dedicated slopes for young children to safely enjoy skiing. The school offers a full range of lessons, from kids lessons to group and private lessons, making it a great place to practice skiing. Sugi Park, located on the slope, offers a wide variety of obstacles for beginners and advanced skiers to enjoy.
