Resort features
The driving time to get to Sapporo Bankei Ski Area from the city center is about 20 minutes. It offers 17 courses, ranging from basic to advanced. Families and travelers love Wak Wak Snowland! Every day, night skiing is available until 9:00 PM, allowing you plenty of enjoyment after work or school. There are 17 courses with a range of slopes, from easy slopes that beginners and families on vacation can enjoy, to slopes that serve as the venue for prestigious international competitions. Children and visitors can play safely with sleds, tube slides, and snow striders in the extended Wak Wak Snowland, which is separated from the main slopes.
In February 2017, the city hosted the 2017 Sapporo Asian Winter Games and was the venue for the freestyle ski mogul and snowboard halfpipe competitions.
