The Chugoku region is located in the western part of Honshu and includes the five prefectures of Hiroshima, Okayama, Tottori, Shimane and Yamaguchi. The Atomic Bomb Dome and Itsukushima Shrine in Hiroshima Prefecture are World Heritage sites that attract tourists from inside and outside Japan. In the San'in region, rich in nature, Tottori Sand Dunes and Izumo Taisha Shrine are also famous tourist attractions.
