Aizu Takatsue is known for its high quality snow. Temperatures of the area on average are lower creating dry snow. This area constantly gets fluffy snow with the high snowfall amounts in the area making a perfect cushion to soften your fall. This is ideal conditions for beginner skier.

A Slope for Every Level of Skier!

Course difficulty level is classified as follows:
Beginner 40%
Intermediate 40%
Advanced 20%

Above percentage (%) represents slope’s steepness. This resort offers many slopes for beginner to intermediate skiers to have fun. Their intermediate level course has gentle slope zone so beginners can give it a try without feeling unsafe. Their advanced course may not be as difficult as desired by aggressive skiers but they do offer advanced courses.

Takatsue Kids Park boasting the Largest Space in Japan.

Children can also have lots of fun at Takatsue Ski Resort. With its fluffy powder snow softening their fall, so no worries getting hurt. Pay the admission fee of 500 JPY and play all day (300 JPY with full-day lift ticket, admission free for children under age of 2).

Kids Park is divided into 3 areas. Waiwai Area, Doki Doki Area and Skill-Up Area. Choose an area according to your child’s age or ability.

There are fun snow toys for kids such as snow sledge, snow glider and strider snow ski in the park so every kid can find a toy he or she likes.

Non Snow Activities

Takatsue Ski Resort can surprise you with many fun, non snow activities. The most popular activity is Takatsue Snow Cat Tour which lets you dash through untouched snow on a snowmobile. This tour is operated several times a day so you can also join this tour to go for the first run of the day, to experience snowshoes (snow trekking) or taking photo.

If you join a showshoe hiking tour, your guide will take you to walk on a fluffy untouched snow. You will see beautiful mountains and frosted trees. With an experienced snow guide, people of all ages can enjoy the panoramic scenery safely.

Takatsue Mountain Top First Track opens up the mountain top slope before its start of operation. If you are lucky, you can enjoy powder snow no one has touched.

Free Lounge

Inside the lounge that is free to use and open for public, there is a bedding. You can change your child’s diapers or to let your child rest or take a nap. There is a diaper change station in both male and female bathroom for your child as well.

Aizu Kogen Takatsue has 6 areas offering cafe and restaurant. Restaurant Aurora is located inside the main lodge and serves many popular menu including Aizu Junen Tantan Noodle (spicy noodle), Takatsue Roasted Beef Bowl and Grilled Cheese Curry.

Aizu Astoria Hotel is conveniently located right on the ski piste. There are also other hotel, ski lodge and “minshuku” which is Japanese style bed and breakfast in the surrounding area.
