Lessons by Kurohime Ski School are somewhat different from ones provided by other schools which allow skiers to learn and improve intuitively.
The resort’s wide-open and well designed slopes are not only for the beginners to learn ski basics but also for other level of skiers who want to improve their ski skills. If you fall into one of those type of skier, why not give this resort a try.
Gentle Slope for Beginner and Intermediate Skiers
Kurohime Kogen Snow Park has 11 slopes in total, of which 80% are for the beginner and intermediate skiers.
Slopes coming from the mountain top are tricky slopes only recommended for advanced skiers. Half-way up the mountain you will find a slope with just the right length and difficulty level for intermediate skiers. At the foot of the mountain spreads a wide-open slope with gentle slope recommended for beginner skiers.
Towards the bottom of mountain you go on, less difficult slopes become. This simple trail design makes it less possible for skiers to accidentally ski into a more difficult slope from a branching point as they ski down the mountain.
Well maintained, smooth skiing
This is a well maintained ski resort with compressed snow on all slopes making smooth skiing possible. Because it is located inland and high altitude area, you get to experience dry powder snow with less moisture.
It is less crowded even on weekends and holidays, so the snow stays relatively fresh in the afternoon. Highly recommended for those who want to ski in fresh snow.
Looking Over Nojiri Lake
This resort lies on a mountain slope that opens up providing a spectacular view for skiers looking down to Nojiri Lake. Surrounded by mountains, there are many photo locations on the slopes.
Less crowded, powder snow and fun for kids. Sounds perfect? Yes, except this area has a heavy snow fall (and that is why they constantly have powder snow!) which often creates blizzard. Only 30% to 40% of the winter season in Kurohime Kogen area is sunny. On a heavy snow day, forget taking photos and just focus on the heavenly powder snow and enjoy!
