10 courses for beginners to advanced skiers
There are 10 courses in this resort accommodating beginner to advanced skiers.
5 out of 10 courses are for beginners with slope gradient ranging from 13 to 23 degrees, all fairly gentle slopes.
There are 4 courses for intermediate level skiers with slope gradient ranging from 23 to 33 degrees and the total run distance of 240 to 800 meters depending on a slope.
And lastly, an advanced course with slope gradient of 35 degrees at the steepest point.
There are sledges and an inflatable bouncy slide in “Kids Park” area, so everyone can find something to have fun wit at Miyagi Zao Eboshi Ski Resort.

Special deals with lift ticket and gondola ticket
You can purchase a lift ticket every time you ride or in a booklet of 11 tickets. Gondola lift ticket can be purchased as one way or a round trip.
If you are riding multiple times, it is a better deal to buy “Gondola and Lift Pass” which comes in three types: 4 hours, 6 hours and 8 hours.
If you are going to this resort with your family, then “Family Ski Package” is recommendable. This package includes gondola & lift ticket (valid for 6 hours) and a 900 JPY meal coupon for 2 adults and 1 child at 11,400 JPY.
Fun and friendly ski lessons
There are different ski and snowboard lessons offered in this resort including fun ones for beginners. You can contact and find out details about lesson offered at following schools:

Lessons are available from children to adults including a private lessons. Choose one for yourself depending on your needs.
Popular brands and new models are rentable
To make the most of your ski experience, ski gears play a big role (to feel good skiing!). At Miyagi Zao Eboshi Ski Resort, you can rent popular brand ski clothing and new models. You can rent by a an item or a full set. You can also switch between ski and snowboard if within the rent period, so you can try different styles.
Enjoy your break with a good meal
Enjoy a meal at one of two restaurants in the resort:
Restaurant Eboshi
Their signature dish is a juicy hamburg steak. Curry and rice and pasta dishes are also on their menu.
This restaurant is located on the 2nd floor of Gondola House and is close to gondola boarding area.
Restaurant Kamoshika
Their popular menu is “All You Can Pile Up” which literally means you can eat as much food as you can fit on one plate including curry, toppings, salad and rice. This restaurant provides a view of the Pacific Ocean. On a sunny day, you can enjoy a meal with a view of magnificent natural landscape.

Active Resorts Miyagi Zao, a luxurious stay
It is about 8 kilometers which is about 20 minutes drive from this hotel to the ski resort. The hotel has single rooms to bigger rooms for families each providing an environment to relax.
The hotel has a buffet and four restaurants including Iroriyaki restaurant serving hearth-grilled seasonal vegetables and an izakaya (Japanese style pub) serving Japanese cuisine and sake.
Great access to not only the ski resort but also tourist destinations in Zao. You can have fun in this area even if you don’t ski.
Hoshiakari no Yado Mahoroba, relax in a cozy ambience
This hotel is popular for Japanese style rooms with ambience of Japan’s old ancient capital, Kyoto. There are 19 rooms in total out of which 11 rooms come with private outdoor bath adding a very Japanese touch to your trip.
It is about 6 kilometers which is a 15 minutes drive to Miyagi Zao Eboshi Ski Resort. This hotel is especially recommended for those who want a unique stay besides the winter sports.
Togatta Onsen Tamaya Ryokan, try Japanese haute cuisine
This hotel serves the haute cuisine called kaiseki using lots of seasonal ingredients in a homelike environment. Hotel and lift ticket package is especially popular. “Ski/ Snowboard Package” which includes a single day lift pass is also popular. Guests of this hotel will get 30% off on a single day lift ticket purchase (lift ticket only valid at Miyagi Zao Eboshi Ski Resort).
It takes about 15 minutes by car to the ski resort.
How to reach Miyagi Zao Eboshi Ski Resort
To get to Miyagi Zao Eboshi Ski Resort from Tokyo, you will take the Tohoku Shinkansen from Tokyo Station. The bullet train ride is about a couple of hours. You will then get off the train at Shiraishizao Station. From there, it is about 40 minutes by car to the resort.
If you are coming from Sendai Station or Sendai Airport, it is about one hour by car to reach the resort.
Driving to Miyagi Zao Eboshi Ski Resort
If you are thinking about driving to the ski resort, the first thing that comes to your mind is probably the frozen or snow covered roads. The area has heating roads by circulating hot water below the pavement to melt snow on roads.
You still need snow chains or studded snow tires but driving is much easier especially for those who are not used to driving in snow.
The resort has a large parking space with capacity of 3,000 cars. Parking is free during the weekdays, but 600 JPY per day on Saturdays, Sundays, Japan’s national holidays and during the year end / new year season.
Shirokuma Bus, a direct access to the ski resort from Sendai
If you are coming from Sendai Station (JR line), then “Shirokuma Bus” is convenient. Shirokuma Bus & Gondola and Lift Pass (valid for 6 hours) is also available at reasonable prices. You will get a discount on ski or snowboard rental if you purchase Shirokuma Bus ticket.
(Note) Shirokuma Bus needs to be reserved at least 4 days before the date of use.
Free shuttle bus option (seasonal services)
There is also a shuttle bus running to Miyagi Zao Eboshi Ski Resort which runs from Zao-machi Furusato Cultural Center (known as Gozain Hall) to Togatta Onsen (the bus stop is in front of Zao-machi tourist information office).
This is a seasonal bus service available from the end of December to March (with no recess during the season). It is convenient if you found an accommodation located close to the bus transit point.
