Night courses for beginners "Karuizawa Prince Hotel Ski Resort"
Karuizawa Prince Hotel Ski Resort is a resort boasting ski slopes with excellent snow quality, created using snowmaking machines. Being able to ski under great conditions, thanks to the high stability of snow quality and the good ratio of fine weather throughout the season, has earnt the resort quite a favorable reputation.
The two areas that are open for nighttime skiing are the "Kurinoki Trail" and the "Prince Trail". Both courses are wide and easy to ski on, so they’re ideal for beginner skiers to practice on.
Nighttime skiing runs from 4pm to 8pm. Note that it’s closed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, however. As it can be accessed from Tokyo in around an hour, it’s a ski resort that is easy to get to as well.

The course that opens for nighttime skiing is the "Maiko Center Quad" located in the Maiko area. With a total length of 760 meters and an average slope of 10 degrees, no complaints can be made about its specifications.
As the course width is wide and the slope is gentle, this particular nighttime skiing spot is popular with beginner and intermediate skiers. It’s the perfect course for practicing skiing over and over again.
Here, if you have a one-day lift ticket, you can actually continue skiing on into the night! This means you can do your night skiing at a lower rate than other ski resorts.
"Norn Mizukami Ski Resort", where you can ski until as late as midnight
If you just want to ski for a long time, Norn Mizukami Ski Resort is the place to go. It’s open as late as midnight, and is a ski resort with a good reputation for the length of its nighttime opening hours. For those who want to ski as long as they want, there is no better place to be.
The two courses open for nighttime skiing are the "D Course" and "E Course". The D Course is just right in terms of both distance and slope, and it’s an easy-to-ski course for beginners.
The E Course, on the other hand, has a higher difficulty depending on where you ski, and there are places where the maximum slope incline can reach up to 23 degrees. It’s perfect for polishing skills such as carving and turning, and is a course rich in variation that can be enjoyed by everyone from beginner to advanced skiers.
Nighttime skiing hours run until 10pm. It’s open until midnight for a limited time only on Fridays and Saturdays from January to March.
"HAKUBA VALLEY Hakuba Goryu Snow Resort": the resort with the largest scale nighttime skiing facility
Of the ski resorts we have introduced, this one is especially sizable. The course used for nighttime skiing is "Toomi Slope", a long course with a distance of 1500 meters.
One of the biggest attractions of the resort is that the ski center is open 24 hours a day. Facilities such as napping rooms and onsen are also fully laid out, so everything you need to get your fill of nighttime skiing is on hand.
Hakuba Goryu comes recommended for those who want a fulfilling nighttime skiing experience, even if access is a little inconvenient. As it’s also open early in the morning, you can ski for literally the entire day. Nighttime skiing runs until 9:30pm.
