The greatest thing about Takasu Snow Park is the immense scale of its slopes. There are three long-distance courses that are 4,000 meters long, and two 2,000-meter courses. Though many of these courses are relatively wide with a gentle slope, the ups and downs along the course keep them from being too easy, and will let you ski/snowboard down without getting bored. Takasu Snow Park offers a variety of courses - from beginner to intermediate-level, from skiers to snowboarders - that will really let you ski/snowboard to your heart’s content.

Go on the lifts at Dynaland - located near Takasu Snow Park - as many times as you want with the shared lift ticket.

Since the lift ticket can be used at neighboring ski resort Dynaland as well, you’ll really be able to ski/snowboard as much as you want on the expansive slopes. They’re also fairly divided in their uses - the Takasu area has slopes more suited for snowboarders, and Dynaland area has a variety of courses for skiers to enjoy. These two ski resorts combined form a mega-resort suited for both day trips as well as several-days overnight trips.

Dynaland is open at the latest until 11:00 pm!

This area is also known for its great nighttime skiing experience. At neighboring Dynaland, they have nighttime skiing every day from late December to mid-March. It’s a great deal, since you can experience nighttime skiing as part of the One-Day Pass. So if you really want to ski/snowboard your heart out, it’s possible for you to go all the way from the daytime to this nighttime skiing experience.

Move comfortably around on a large-scale gondola lift that seats 15 people

The large-scale gondola lift, which Takasu Snow Park is famous for, covers an immense area, with a length of 2,700 meters. Since this gondola lift goes directly from the base of the slopes to the summit, it allows you to enjoy any of the courses that branch out from the summit.

It’s also known for moving quite fast, meaning it’s relatively less crowded even during the peak season. We can’t recommend the gondola lift for people without much stamina, since you’ll be standing inside, but it’s the perfect transportation method for people who just want to keep going down these long courses.

There are three high-speed lifts in addition to the gondola lift, to make it even more convenient. We recommend you use these if you only want to go down a course or two that you like, since it will allow you to avoid the crowd. Many people like the layout of the lifts, which gives skiers/snowboarders excellent mobility, allowing them to move across the expansive slopes of this ski resort without much stress.

World-class terrain park items

One of the reasons this ski resort is so popular amongst snowboarders is its terrain parks, which come equipped with a wide variety of items. This terrain park is so high-level that it has even been used as the site for world tournaments by professional snowboarders. There’s no end to the snowboarders who come to this ski resort specifically for this terrain park.

The most well-known of these items is the two half-pipes, which have been said to be top-class in the world. The superpipe in particular is extraordinary, with a height of 6 meters and a total length of 120 meters. They’re all well-maintained as well, meaning the environment is there for you to do the best tricks you can, whenever you go.

There’s a ton of other park items as well, with some of the widest variety of items in Japan. There’s “Monster Banks,” which gives you the freedom for some great freeriding, as well as the nighttime only “Step Up Park,” which is good for beginners, and the high-difficulty area “Terrain Park,” which takes advantage of its unique terrain, and more. This is a must-visit location if you’re a snowboarder who wants to make their terrain park debut this season.

A large-scale ski resort that’s easy to access by car

The easiest way to get to Takasu Snow Park is by car. It’s about a 10-minute drive away from the Takasu Interchange, which is close to Gifu Prefecture. A perk is that you don’t have to go down narrow, snowy roads to get to the ski resort, meaning it’s easy to get to even for people that might not be so comfortable with driving. There is, however, quite a lot of traffic on the weekends. But if you make sure to leave early both when you arrive and leave the ski resort, you shouldn’t have to deal with much traffic.

Accessibility is particularly great from the Kansai area, since there are buses that go directly from the Nagoya/Osaka area to the ski resort. Choose one of these plans, and you’ll be able to come empty-handed to the ski resort, and enjoy some day-trip skiing.
