Ski Resort Tenei: A Family-Friendly Ski Resort With Great Cost Performance

09 July, 2024
Ski Resort Tenei, located in Fukushima Prefecture, is the perfect place for parents who want to teach their children how to ski. With gentle slopes located at the foot of the mountain, their “Family Slopes” are perfect for beginners. And for kids who are a little too young to ski, there’s still sledding and other wintertime fun to be had! Their lift tickets (meal included), priced at 2,500JPY for adults and 1,500JPY for children, are very reasonable and adds one more point in Ski Resort Tenei’s favor. When it comes to planning a ski trip, transportation, snow wear, and rental fees can all pile up quickly. But with lift tickets at such a low price, you and your family can enjoy a ski trip without straining your wallet. Even with ski equipment rental fees, a day of skiing for an adult shouldn’t run more than 10,000JPY. Plus, Ski Resort Tenei is comparatively less congested than many other ski resorts, providing a relaxed day of hitting the slopes. As the resort was designed with beginners in mind, this is the perfect environment for novices to get a feel for the mountain.

A Convenient Layout With Access Anywhere From A Single Lift

One of the greatest aspects of Ski Resort Tenei is that you can access all of the resort’s courses from a single chair lift. There are 4 courses on offer at the resort: the family course, the beginner course, intermediate course, and advanced course. With the courses all situated so close to the lift, this makes it easy to get in multiple practice runs. It’s not often you find a ski resort that offers skiers of all skill levels such great access to the slopes.

Also, all 4 courses lead down to the same end point, that being the entrance to the two-person lift at the foot of the mountain, making for a simple yet effective layout. Plus, the slopes are rather compact, so even if you bring your whole family, you can rest assured you’ll all meet up even if you take different courses.

The wait times for the lift are also quite short, just another feather in Ski Resort Tenei’s hat! Many skiers offer high praise at the short lift wait times. For those skiers out there who worry about going to a popular resort and ending up waiting in line longer than hitting the slopes, definitely check this place out.

Family Slope Perfect For Parents And Kids

Ski Resort Tenei offers a wide Family Slope with a gentle incline. This makes it the perfect place for parents who want to bring their kids with them for a day on the mountain.

The resort offers all sorts of options for families with young children: sledding practice for 3 to 4 year olds not old enough to try skiing and practice areas for those old enough to try it for the first time.

The Family Slope also has a snow escalator making it easy to get up to the top of the run. The snow escalator makes getting from the end of the run to the start a snap. For children not used to walking in the snow, getting up and down pulling his or her own sled can be pretty dangerous. But using the snow escalator, this cuts down on time and lets them sled to their heart’s content.

Well-Maintained, Pristine Facilities

Skiing can really take it out of you, so it’s always important to have a nice place to rest. At the Center House Restaurants at the foot of the mountain, there are all sorts of different dishes available to warm you up: stewed cutlet teishoku, beef bowls, oden, you name it! Everything on offer here is made with a pinch of love!

Perhaps the most delicious of all is their cutlet curry, topped with a freshly fried pork cutlet. Crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside. One bite and you might find yourself hooked! Their special Tenei Tokusan Negi Tappuri Karashi Ramen is topped with lots of delicious local scallions and is one of their most popular dishes.

These fresh, reddish purple scallions are crisp and delicious, the perfect compliment to the chewy noodles. And the ramen’s spicy soup is sure to warm even the coldest skier to the core. Definitely check this place out!
