The Inawashiro Ski Resort consists of two adjacent ski slopes, the Chuo Area and the Minero Area. The course is set up to allow skiers to jump between the Chuo and Minero areas while skiing. If you get tired of an area you can always jump to the other. Enjoying two areas of the one ski resort makes for a broader range of skiing experiences.
The Chuo Area on the left of the photo features a gradual sloping course, perfect for beginners, and snow activities small children can partake in. This is an ideal environment for beginners to practice and familiarize themselves with the snow slope in.
The course has also been fine-tuned in various ways to keep skiers from getting bored. Inawashiro Ski Resort allows skiers to enjoy a variety of course conditions, from courses sandwiched between walls of snow on either side, to courses on freshly fallen snow that rises all the way up to the knee.
Skiers looking to brush up on their technique or are looking for more of a challenge should try taking on the Minero Area on the right side. The advanced course down a mogul slope is sure to thrill even the most experienced of skiers. The feeling of achievement felt when completing the course gives a rush no ordinary course can provide.
Our lunch recommendation is none other than the Gyunyuya Shokudo - the famous originator of Aizu ramen
The Inawashiro Ski Resort is home to four restaurants on-site, three in the Chuo Area and another in the Minero Area. The ramen on offer by the Gyunyuya Shokudo inside Restaurant Sansui in the Chuo Area is not to be missed.

The Gyunyuya Shokudo is a long-established ramen restaurant with a history dating back some 80 years. Originally a milk store, the most popular item on the Gyunyuya Shokudo’s menu was milk miso ramen. The thick milk combined with the homemade miso produces a mild tasting soup that leaves a smooth impression. The faintly sweet taste left in the mouth helps draw out the appetite, with patrons grabbing the bowl to drink down the soup a common sight.
The cheese topping spread on the corn leaves a smooth, deep taste that resembles that of cream stew when melted in the hot soup. Rice can also be added to the remaining soup to enjoy a new, risotto-like dish.

Take a break at the day trip onsen Villa Inawashiro, accessible directly from the slopes
The windy conditions on the mountainside can freeze the body up after just a few hours spent outside. This coldness can cause the fingers and toes to go numb to the point where all sensation is lost. You could find your body about to give way from the cold and tiredness after a day spent enjoying the slopes...!
The perfect remedy for this is to take a dip in the large Hayama Onsen located within the Villa Inawashiro at the foot of the mountain slope.
Steam from the bathtub pleasantly seeps through every pore as you pass through the broad glazed doors to the large bath. Feel the beautifying effect take place on your skin as you relax and soak in hydrogen carbonate spring water at a temperature of 60.5 degrees. Soaking in this water is said to cause the minute carbonic acid covering the skin’s surface to break down unnecessary keratins, leaving your skin feeling silky smooth.
Why not try leaving the stress of work and child rearing at the door to relax in a world away from the hubbub of everyday life while gazing peacefully out at the scenery outside?
