Geto Kogen Ski Resort

Resort information
One of Japan's top destinations for snowfall and powder snow, this resort offers consistently reliable snow conditions, typically open from December through Golden Week in May. Its ungroomed tree-run area, where skiers weave between trees, is one of the largest in the Tohoku region. The resort offers a total run length of 14,100 meters across standard trails and expansive tree-run areas. Trails range from gentle slopes perfect for first-timers to a panoramic trail with an observation deck at the start, offering views of Mt. Chokai and Mt. Iwate, as well as mogul runs, and more—accommodating skiers and snowboarders of all levels. On-site, you'll find lodging directly connected to the slopes and natural hot springs. From the resort's large open-air bath, you can even see as far as Kitakami City. Access is easy, with a free shuttle bus running from JR Kitakami Station.
