Tons of ultra-difficult courses that have been used for ski competitions

The Duffy Course is quite a difficult course, one even world-class professional skiers struggle with. We can’t recommend this course for total beginners, but it’s definitely a course you’ll want to try at least once after you get more used to skiing. Experienced skiers who want to brush up their skills should definitely challenge themselves to this course. It is an extremely satisfying course to go down. The feeling of achievement you get when you finish this course without tripping is something you won’t forget.
If you’re a total beginner and feel intimidated by all this, fear not. Right next to the Duffy Course is the Royal Christy Course, a beginner-oriented course that is wide with a gentle slope. There’s no need to worry about running into other skiers, so you can get in as much practice as you want.
A ski course that gives you an awe-inspiring view of Mt. Bandai and Lake Inawashiro
Once you’ve gotten the hang of if, try brushing up your technique on the Chinese Course. The Chinese Course gives you more variety and thrill than what you’d get in a beginner-oriented course, with the occasional sharp curve and dynamic ups and downs.
The cherry on top is the fact that you can look out over Mt. Bandai and Lake Inawashiro - one of the highest-ranked spots for beautiful scenery in Japan - as you ski down the slope. Why not experience a 1,500-meter long-distance run with an extraordinary view?
The sight of the sun’s pillars of light stretching out onto the surface of Lake Inawashiro, and swaying with the ripples of the water, is so beautiful it will take your breath away. Gaze out onto the sunset as it takes on a deeper and deeper orange-red, and experience one of the most relaxing skiing experiences of your life.
Tired? Relax at the free rest stop in the Center House
The free rest stop, located in the Center House at the base of the slope, comes equipped with a restaurant. The restaurant offers a wide variety of food, from the sweet red-bean soup, which will lease your aches and pains with its hint of sweetness, to hot dogs, cutlet curries, and ginger-fried pork rice bowls.
Skiing exercises most of the muscles in the body, even the ones that don’t get much use in your daily life. As such, skiing for just one hour can make you feel more tired than you’d think. Beginners who aren’t yet used to skiing/snowboarding on the snow should exercise particular caution. Make sure to drink some water in between your runs, and rest frequently.

We also recommend you head to Hotel Listel Inawashiro, which is adjacent to the Center House, and try out their luxurious, all-you-can-eat lunch buffet. Part of the joy of traveling is being able to eat colorful, beautiful dishes made from fresh local ingredients.
A subtle yet great perk is the fact that you can just walk right in with your snow boots, meaning you don’t have to take them off to put them back on again later. Make sure not to forget your lift ticket, for 20% off.

Kocho-no-Yu - an onsen facility to ease the aches and pains from a day of skiing
There’s a an onsen facility located in the basement of Hotel Listel Inawashiro that can be used for day trips. The natural onsen, which sources its water from a spring at a depth of 1,200 meters, feels soft and silky on the skin, and is expected to aid in recovery from fatigue. Bathe in the bathtub, which is filled to the brim with spring water, all the way down to your shoulders, and you’ll feel your body unwind from your day of skiing.
Gaze out through the window of the onsen at the snowboarders going down the slopes, the skiers on the ski lifts, and the snowy mountains, and enjoy a blissful period of relaxation.
